Campos Studio has designed rural homes across a diverse range of landscapes, from the forests and coastlines of the Pacific Northwest to the deserts of Baja California. Understanding that every context is unique, our approach begins with the site itself. Rather than applying a predetermined design language, we allow the site itself to shape each project from the outset. We spend time observing its light, weather, and rhythms, camping on-site when possible to experience the landscape throughout the day and across changing conditions. Our observations become the foundation of the design, allowing each home to emerge from the qualities that make its setting distinct. In each project we seek to reveal what is already there, creating homes that are inseparable from their environment and allow daily life to be attuned to climate and place.
